How to exlude your own admin ip address from Google Analytics

This is one of those Gotchas that people miss when setting up Google Analytics. You need to exclude the computer that you use to maintain the site with. Otherwise, you will artificially inflate the sites’ visitor count.

An alternative to Apple’s Dictionary shortcut for Firefox.

Apple allows you to press “Command + Control + D” on any word in an Apple application to see a dictionary definition. This doesn’t work in Firefox. Bummer. Here’s an alternative that’s just as good.

How to make a vector mask within another vector mask using Photoshop.

After working for a finicky art director for many years, I learned to make Photoshop documents that were highly editable. I always wanted to be able and go back several steps in case a photo needed to be replaced. This “mask within a mask” technique is a great way to work with two frames around an image or a group of images. By working with folders and vector masks, you don’t have to “flatten” your work which often causes you to have to start from scratch.

This is a tip for power users that often have trouble going back to the tab they want.  I quickly show you how to “count” your tabs and call up each tab by a number. This is helpful when you get around 6 to 9 tabs and want to count back from the last tab.
